There is one on display here in town and I'll try and get some digital photos of it tomorrow but what it is? I've heard of the Brabus 7.3 SL (from Felixx's classic model) but I can't find much info on the AMG SL73 apart from what users at Supercars.net says. I heard a nick-name: The Hammer, is that it? This one is black and appears to be a US-model judging from the part white, part amber turn signals in the front.
I like the shape of the old SL and this AMG 7.3 must be a super cruiser par excellence, in spite of the tonnage.

Have you seen this
http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/frame.mv?file=car.mv&num=1145
It seems it uses the same engine as the Pagani Zonda & some of the AMG build CLK-GTR.
It is also in the game "Mercedes Benz World Racing" and it is a mighty powerfull beast

An amazing old "tank" (as one of my family friends who is also from Bavaria, but living in Australia now calls it).
It's another of these amazing over-the-top monsters the German car tuners do so well. I don't much care for the slab-sided style, or the angular dash, but the rest is lovely.

Cool, thanks for the link. It's a beauty and I'm a sucker for a elegant silver car
So it's in MBWR, hmmm, another argument for me to part with some money :D Even the normal SL600 automatic could outrun a late-mode Corvette C4 LT-4 so.... :D
I hope the car is still there tomorrow, and the good weather, so I can take some photos in the display-room it's in.
Edit: Chris it sure is a tank, but I like the angular styling especially the latest facelifted models are very elegant imho, the dash however is too angular agreed, but what the heck :)
Thanks for the info Fez :)

Thanks a lot Fez :) Interesting reading, but it really sounds like a very rare beast, I will try my best to take some photos of it tomorrow. My camera can take 18 max-res pictures (2000 pixels wide or so).

1. I remembered wrong it was a SL60, not 73. It did have the bodykit on that I think is called Hammer. Just 58000 km's driven and it was for sale, no price written though. It did say it could reach 290 kph though (180 mph), I wonder how they knew that. It was a 1991-model btw and had 235/45-17 and 255/45-17 Potenza tires on and as you can see, the rims are surprisingly deep.
2. There was even less space to take photos from also to make sure the sun wasn't in the shot (it's winter here and the sun was low and shined directly thrue the window).
At least they show some of the car which is more than the internet does. I've gone thrue 30 pages of google results for AMG SL and AMG Hammer and only found 3 small images of the correct car.

And a rear-shot showing that nice engraved spoiler off
Sorry for the quality but it's the best I could do under the circumstances.

Just another one to show the space-limits. Sadly this was the only outside angle that didn't have strong reflections in it due to the sun shining low from the left.
Sorry I'm no Alex. I would've tried harder had it know this body-kit was so rare on the internet.

good pics frank, just remember your cameras limitations (tight quarters, closed quarters etc), you have a pretty good one though.
Looks pretty kool well intergrated of course.
Ah very nice pictures, thanks for sharing Frank.
Why didn't you testdrive it :D
Shame it was not a 73, as they must be very rare.

Thanks, the car actually looked very good in real life. It was both elegant and wicked looking at the same time, way to go german design
I hope to get some real photographs of nice cars in the future.

Both the SL73 and CL73 are amazing cars.
