I remember reading some interview with Austrian race driver Dieter Quester, he owns a M1 and he said he would only sell it if he did not have any money left to feed his family. And the styling I think was from none other than the maestro himself, Giorgetto Giugiaro. BMW of course provided it's evergreen inline-6 engine, in M88 form. Result equals a well-engineered car with real sporting prowess. They came in a 450hp form, and even a wild 800hp+ Group 5 form, suitable for taking on the very potent, but tricky handling Porsche 935's, and numerous opposition from various countries.
