Mickk 01-22-2004, 05:43 AM Not bad! You could fit it out as a Cruise ship and use the landing area as a helicopter pad for rich folks to fly in and out from the ship to shore ;) AccadaccA 01-22-2004, 06:44 AM I suppose if I had a lazy $7Mil I would buy it then fit a few thousand top end puters on the deck and we'd all have the LAN party to end all LAN parties! :HB: Anyone up for a 2,000+ LAN of PU? :racer: But isn't it bloody ridiculous to advertise something like that on ebay? Hmmm, So FeZ is in the market for a 28+ feet Powerboat. FeZ 01-22-2004, 06:56 AM Originally posted by AccadaccA Hmmm, So FeZ is in the market for a 28+ feet Powerboat. :rotf: no I am just bored [XR]M12 01-22-2004, 07:16 AM yeah, saw this some days ago...just I dont own $7.000.000 :p - you maybe?? ;) also a funny thing: there once was a CRAY computwr for sale....I think the price was $10.000 (weight: 1 ton I believe) Mickk 01-22-2004, 10:00 AM Originally posted by [XR]M12 also a funny thing: there once was a CRAY computwr for sale....I think the price was $10.000 (weight: 1 ton I believe) LOL! I wonder if Windoze would run on that :p Moe Faster 01-22-2004, 10:15 AM Hey mon, rig that thing up so you can fly a Cessna on and off of it. Would make a great floating casino and concert venue. The hanger bay would make a great mosh pit, and think of how many water skiers you could pull behind that thing !! Although it doesn't show it, I'll bet it has some 5inch cannons on it, GREAT for launching fireworks !! 8)~ heinrick 01-22-2004, 10:21 AM Originally posted by Mickk LOL! I wonder if Windoze would run on that :p You'd have to upgrade the RAM....^_^ Heinrick Justin Martin 01-22-2004, 12:03 PM Cool, that would be fun! :D It's even been retrofitted with an angled deck. NameX 01-22-2004, 12:11 PM Well, keeping it running would be the killer expense. I saw on TV that a real person had a WWII Frigate that was converted to a yacht. The economy of it was worse than todays war ships. AccadaccA 01-23-2004, 06:27 AM Originally posted by Moe Faster Although it doesn't show it, I'll bet it has some 5inch cannons on it, GREAT for launching fireworks !! ... or passing beers from one end to the other during aforementioned LAN party. SkyBum 01-23-2004, 08:40 AM I'm afraid you'd need something faster than a Cessna to make it off of that deck in time......Even a turbine powered Cessna Caravan (my current jumpship) requires 1100 feet of ground roll. But can you imagine the kind of parties you could throw on that deck. First thing I'd do is cover it with a foot of sand and plant some palm trees. My own private mobile island.....hmmmmnnnnn.......Margurita anyone? [edit] well on further inspection, it seems that a 182 could just barely pull it off, it'd be a knucklebiter though..... Justin Martin 01-23-2004, 11:53 AM Hmm, a Cessna 185 with a STOL kit could do it, there's plently of 185's already such modified in Alaska and rural Canada. Beyond that, maybe a Maule, Socata Ralleye, Piper Cub or any number of kitplanes like the Skystar Series 7. But it'd be impossible for most planes, unless you used the catapult. :D Blitz 01-23-2004, 04:53 PM Originally posted by IH8COPS Hmm, a Cessna 185 with a STOL kit could do it, there's plently of 185's already such modified in Alaska and rural Canada. Actually, I don't think I'd want to. &( SkyBum 01-23-2004, 06:22 PM Originally posted by Blitzkrieg Yeah, and see the plane fly apart due to the sheer force. :D Ugh, I can just imagine the gas bills it would take to power that thing. Or some sort of larger helicopter. Justin Martin 01-24-2004, 07:49 AM I wonder if there are any privately owned Harriers? Late model western jets can be tough to acquire. :( chris 01-24-2004, 04:31 PM Maybe some old ones perhaps, but not newer models. Harriers aren't exactly the last word in modern military aircraft design. ;) What about an SU-33, would it work off such an aircraft carrier? (Provided the catapult systems and such are still operational). I do know that some of the more exotic Russian aircraft go on sale, surprisingly often.. I think recently the Tupolev TU-144 LL that was extensively refurbished and used for testing by Boeing, Nasa and Tupolev (research into supersonic transport type aircraft) was offered for sale, and purchased quickly. I think someone is probably going to use it as their business jet.. (An awfully expensive to run business jet though)! wello 01-24-2004, 10:56 PM the funny part is this guys is saying he has a 7m boat for sale and the only other thing he has sold on ebay is a 10 dollar lighter ^_^ |
