Heya All
I know there are many Rock and Roll lovers here and almost everyone of us has been to a rocl concert.
My question is, has anyone accidently/intentionally found themselves in a Mosh Pit ?

I do, intentionally, and i love it! all the adrenaline that runs through you hitting and being hit by all those people, its simply great. Of course if the thing gets a bit more than violent, when the fun starts becoming danger, then i get out. The last time i saw one of my friends being hit horibly on the face, then he fell and everyone got over him, and then someone punched him on the stomach (is it too obvious that he is very unexpierienced??). anyway, its very cool, but you have to be very carefull also...

Hi Andy! In the 70's,when i was going to concerts(Insert rude old fart joke here, then stand still so I can insert me tackitty boot up yer backside! ^_^ )If we had tried moshing in front of the stage,Security would have had us out on the street in 5 minutes! &( So,no Mosh pits for this old goat, but I seem to recall being in a few Mysh pits! ;)

Hey Ric mon. :D

What are you telling me ?? That you never went to a Greatful Dead Concert and ran into a "Head Dancer". &(

For those of you poor souls who may have never had that experience, a "Head Dancer" is some cat with his eyes closed and his arms swung wide apart spinning around and around in time to some music somewhere I'm pretty sure. But, the thing you had to watch out for was the bottle of Jack Daniels in one hand that probably was the cause of that out of kilter spin in the first place.

Oh yea, I remember that guy . . .

By the late 70's, experienced Dead Heads would politely corrall the aimless Head Dancers off into a corner of the concert area and those I believe were the first Mosh Pits. 'Cause you certainlty took your life into your own hands when you tried to traverse that area.

It depends on the concert. Luckily, I am stern enough to be able to take a mosh pit no problem, but if it is at the wrong concert, I get annoyed. For example, a Motley Crue concert I was at had a pit going around me, and it made me mad; you don't mosh to Crue. Also, at an Iron Maiden show I was at Bruce Dickinson actually stopped the song to give a mosher shit, and had security toss him out. A Mudvayne or Pantera concert, hey no problem mosh away, but not at a classic metal gig.

What about a mosh pit at one of your concerts, Teej? Does that happen? Would that annoy you?

I've been on the edge of the pit, but since I have almost always been with a date, I've just pushed them away, never joined. Actually I went to a Maldita Vecindad (a kind of Spanish punk)concert that I kind of got involved in a mosh pit because my friend pulled me out, but to tell the truth I just didn't "get it".

Yes, we get a LOT of moshers at our shows, but it is usually more tame than some other pitsl. Depending on the crowd, we can have anything from modest dancers to full blown moshers, you never know. It doesn't really bug me, so long as nobody is getting hurt or pestered by those moshing. Naturally, you get some guys who insist on getting up on the stage. That is when this (http://www.optimal-impact.com/photos/keith.gif) guy comes in handy, heheh.
