There is a video of Clarkson testing it on the page, fantastic, you have to see the dragrace against the Mercedes SLK 320 :)

Producing 380 bhp (+98) 279 kw and 376 lbs ft (510 Nm) it turns a standard Third Generation Range Rover into a really sporting vehicle capable of accelerating from zero to 100 mph (160 kph) fully 9 seconds quicker than the ordinary 4.4 litre version.
goodness gracious, how slow is the regular model? my mom and dads 5.7liter 2000 Suburban LT would kill this truck, and thats saying something cause our truck is slow (after about 80^_^ )
LOL just seen that there is another version of that video on flixvault.net. The version is not as good in quality but it is longer and it showed some things that they would not want to show on the makers website :)
They did not show the laptime of 1:44, Clarksons comment "1:44 despite the cheat the slowest time EVER"
And also he says "The stig told me after the run that it was the 1st time ever he was scared behind a wheel"
LOL I wonder why the cut that out )=)
I wonder too, but I would prefer a Porche Cayenne or VW Tourag over that because they are more likealbe brand to me and the Porshce and VW is still capable offroad and is passenger car based.

Yeah, the Cayenne Turbo is a fine machine.
Only need to specify the off-road package and it will do fine if you did need to drive off-road sometimes.
But even a Cayenne S would be good enough, even it will do 242km/hr.. The 266km/hr Cayenne Turbo is one hell of a monster.
It also has an intoxicating V8 rumble. I have to say that Europe is building some of the nicest 8 cylinder engines at the moment. Ferrari builds wonderful smaller ones, and Porsche builds wonderful larger V8's, and Maserati builds the best of both worlds.
BMW, Audi, Benz, Jaguar also have some fine V8 engines.
If you love 4wds from the peoples car marque, and prefer diesel fuel, but do like to go fast, a German tuner called B&B Automobiletechnik will do a Touareg V10 Tdi for you with 400hp, and 920Nm torque.
Pass on the silly 19" or 20" wheels, let them keep the body mods, and you'd still have something reasonably practical for all uses, but with some extra engine performance.
I'd rather the twin turbo v10 diesel int he Toureg, 750nm of torque is not somehting to sneeze abot and I prefer diesel engines over a petrol engine anytime escpeccially VW and Audi ones, they are so quick for diesels and the v10 diesel beats the other two touregs.

Just a shame it costs more than double the Touareg 3.2 price tag. For performance, it doesn't really seem to be that much faster than the 4.2 V8, although fuel economy will be better.
I noticed Wheels Magazine loves the V10 Tdi engine in the Touareg.
But I hear it is even more effective in the Phaeton. :)
Hmmmm a V10 TDI Phaeton, lovely jubbly.
I dont like the looks of the Cayenne or the Touareg much, so if I had the chance I would take the Overfinch :D What a name Overfinch :D

I do think that both Cayenne and Touareg are a bit more sophisticated than the Rangie to be honest, in standard forms. Cayenne runs rings around all the opposition on-road (contrary to the latest Wheels magazine reckoning it to be not much better than a Touareg!) and will go further off road than many.
I honestly wonder sometimes about the reporting in Wheels Magazine.. They can be singing the praises of a car in one issue, then later on, the same vehicle gets a reasonably bad review, despite nothing changing, except the date.
The worst tuned 4wd's probably are the type where the tuning hurts the offroad performance. Those make me wonder what they were thinking.
