Does anyone know of a good OS to replace windows?? One that can run windows programs but takes up way less on your system resources. I was just curious. I have a decent PC (1GHZ, 128mb ram, 64mb vid card, needs some more ram) and some games lag abit, i've heard that windows really demands alot. Is there a substitute for the Windows OS??

I doubt it.
There might be some that could run windows programs with an emulator, but then you are defeating the purpose of changing the operating system in the first place.
Windows XP should run alright on a PC like that, though maybe upping the ram to about 512mb would help. Apart from that, the games probably lag a bit because you don't have enough processing power or random access memory.

I heard there's an os called Lindows OS, that is like a fusion of Linux and Windows, and that has windows-like interface, but don't know if it can actually run windows programs, you should check it out.

Lindows doesn't have built in emulator capability.
To run Windows programs on a os other than Windows, you need an emulator. And the emulation process will consume far more performance than the performance difference between XP and a modern Linux distro.
Don't worry about the performance differences. Comparing Windows to any other modern, graphical os, they're not gigantic.
Like Chris said, going to 512mb of ram will help alot, even with Win98, and expecially with 2000/XP.
