lets get some ideas together for our first SCGT mod.

Cars :

I say we keep it fictional for now, to learn about editing SCGT but by not setting a too high goal for out first mod.

I say a list of cars made up of

Holden

VY SS
VX SS
VY SS Ute
VX SS Ute

Ford

BA XR8
AU XR8
BA XR8 Ute
AU XR8 Ute

Other / High Performance

Holden - Monaro CV8
Holden - Clubsport OR GTS
Ford - FPV GT
Ford - DJR Special

That gives us 12 DIFFERENT car meshes.

Textures - we would only have 1 texture per car for the others / high performers, for instance DJR special only has 1 texture anyway. We could make like a targa tassie Monaro skin where it has Monaro written on the side, maybe have the FPR logo on the GT like how the FPR cars all have it at the back. Start throwing some ideas together.

So with these having 1 texture, if the others have 2 textures per mesh that equals 20 different cars, if they have 3 textures then we have a total of 28 cars (this is too much?)

Drivers - being fictional we can either make up driver names, or we could for fun sit down and piece together drivers from various Holden and Ford V8 Supercar and V8 Brute Teams, such as Craig Lowndes, Glenn Seton, Marcos Ambrose in the FPV GT and Peter Brock, Greg Murphy, Mark Skaife (yea right) in the Monaro. another thing to talk about

Track - for ease just have one track, Bathurst. Make the mod a sort of Bathurst 24 Hour mod to coincide with the SCGT endurance type setup. Of course people can always download other tracks if they want to

Name - go for your life making one up. I dont want it called Bathurst 24 Hour, as its not. Could be something like the holden VS Ford 24 Hour Enduro, V8 24 Hour (V824) or something creative.

Design Team - put your name down and describe your talent/skill you are bringing. I urge any V8C modders interested to join as we have already proved how well we can work together to get stuff done. Experience isnt required as we are all learning but you do have to be prepared to read tutorials and not just leave it till the end and start asking us who have learnt how its done.

Beginning - we will begin shortly, this will be titled Project Blueprint - SCGT ***** (the * is where the end title will be). I just need some ideas here first.

Recapping - we need some ideas on ...

- If the car list is OK
- What drivers would you put together if given those cars (remember any from V8 Supercars or V8 Brutes or Konica)
-If the idea of a fictional Bathurst 24 hr is ok and finally ...
-a creative name to describe the mod

I like Concept. Also mixed a few together - SCGT - Aussie Racer 24 Hr, maybe Aussie Muscle 24 Hr (no maybe we could get the AM site involved too not only part of the name but if we have permission to use his cars ...)

As for the drivers name i was thinking

Holden: Peter Brock, Greg Murphy and Garth Tander (or Jason Bright)

Ford: John Bowe, Glenn Seton and Craig Lowndes

Instead of a gts, can we have a Corsa with a 380kw 6.5 litre stroker instead? because that is an equivilent to the Dick Johnson car cos it isn't fair to HSv cos they are a big time builder. their site is www.csv-australia.com and TMM has made a CSV but it is abot 8000 polys I'lls ee if Ic an get permission cos he ahs made a vy ss as well and I'm sure if I ask him he will let me use em.

Ne way if we get permissions from Kev I can modify all of the cars that we have and just use the v8 Challenge cars for the utes can't we?

I like the name Aussie thunder too.

I'll instal scgt on my comp again and have a go at conveting using the programs.

Well I suppose yes, it is fair as the DJR car isnt a standard Ford or FPV car, (as it has been tinkered with by a third party) neither is the Corsa

Yes, we should be able to use the V8C meshes for utes as well.

Mickcals - I mean you have 1 mesh for each car, right?

Ok so this mesh you have 1 texture, say bright orange GTP, right?

Ok so thats 1 car based on the GT mesh.

But then you can copy the mesh, change the texture to a Silver and blue GT skin and wallah - a second car based on the same mesh, leaving you with 2 cars - an orange GTP and a silver GT/

What I was getting at was do you mean have 1 for each car, or do you mean double up on the ones listed in holden and ford, to have 2 different cars for these.

Alright I ahve sent an email to TMM and hopefully I'l get permissio to convert but today i ahd a looka t the game and I can't find the cars files using that one tutorial that we have found, any ideas?

PBP version 3 (lol)

Project Blueprint : Aussie Thunder (for SCGT not V8C)

Cars list will be
Holden

2 x VY SS sedan
2 x VX SS sedan
2 x VY SS Ute
2 x VX SS Ute

Ford

2 x BA XR8
2 x AU XR8
2 x BA XR8 Ute
2 x AU XR8 Ute

Other / High Performance

1 x Holden - Monaro CV8
1 x Corsa (whatever its called)
1 x Ford - FPV GT
1 x Ford - DJR Special

That equals 20 cars across 3 categories, which in game you can choose to race either a field of Holden, a field of Ford, a field of high performance or as one would hope most will do race a field that mixes these 3 categories together @ bathurst

The Team:

Feel free to nominate yourself

Y2kGoofball - I'll piece it together, arrange tutorials and the like and do texturing as require
Mickcals - the same ol same ol, although you guys dont see it on the internet he does test it and keep me focussed on the job
VQ - 3D editing/modeling
Monaro - whatever you wish to do

Now our textures should be able to come from V8C, as the OzCar cars were V8C sourced using V8 Shakes textures, we should be able to do similar (although with VQ editing that wont be a problem as he will know how the mapping all goes anyway)

We will be using V8C textures as I have a CD full of fictional racing cars, as well as ones like Targa Tassie Monaro, Brock 05 VX (that would look awesome as a VY and as a 24 hour enduro car), and all sorts of other fictional textures mainly for VX and AU but can be changed to VY or BA as needed, as well as many Brute textures for the utes

Hows this sound?

just thought too ...

to keep it even we may replace the CV8 with a GTS or Clubsport or similar? Its just that if we try to keep it even the CV8 is beside the FPV, which is why our Corsa is against the DJR Falcon (as Corsa and DJR are third party modifiers)

I dunno, your decision (thats the problem when Ford dont make a 2 door Falcon )=) )

Y2k do you have the lastest Motor magazine. cause if you do you could use that 400kw Falcon instead of the DJR Special

Umm how about no Mickcals, becuase the DJR is an official company and this one isn't.

Ne way we should have the Clubsport r8 agasint the FPV gt because the r8 is a race track car, the suspension is more inclined towards racetrack racing and is a sedan too.

The Corsa is a CSV Mondo GT 370r, I ahve asked tmm and he is lowering the polys on ti fr me but I can't find the way to open the cars or whcih folders have the cars in the game to extract.

ok :(

The whole point is to have equal performance cars i.e. Holden VS Ford which have equal performance values to make it fairer when racing, which is why the majority of cars are SS and XR8's

Your wrong there VQ, Herrod Motorsport is a company. Herrod Motorsport are supported by Ford.

So i think that the CSV Corsa vs the Herrod Motorsport Falcon (instead of the DJR Special)

For pics, Y2k if you have the Motor mag, the car should be on the front cover, with a feature article inside

I was thinking rather then try to have similar cars in the other/ high performance category why dont we just shove a bunch of different Holden and Ford cars, street legal high performance? I mean like Clubsport (maybe not), GTS, Monaro Coupe, FPV GT or GT-P, DJR car, Corsa Mondo etc etc.

It can always come down to we have 2 classes - Street Cars (SS and XR8's) and Street High Peformance (GT, Corsa etc). We can put the SS and XR8's in one class and the high performers in the other, that way if you want to race the mixed field of SS and XR8 VX, VY, AU and BA's then you can, or if you want a field of high performance cars you can.

You can always mix class types if you want both-^

And while were at it we can put in the Herrod Superhcarged xr8 agasint the peter starr superhcarged monaro, starr's car is bit more powerful, but it doens't matter whent hey are making about 585rwkw(thefalcon) and about 630kw (the monaro)

Why not just Falcon XT versus Commodore Executive..

It'd have to be the LPG Falcon XT version though, against the petrol V6 Commodore, for obvious reasons of keeping things equal. ^_^

yer I guess 400kw ina falcon versuses 370kw ina Moanor is fair, cos the Maonro weighs less so it is prolly quicker.

I was getting at the performance gap between the base Commodore and Falcon.. Oh well, never mind.. ;)

On autogas, the Falcon is slower at least. But on unleaded super, it sets quite a cracking pace for its price and size, and especially coming straight from the showroom.

VQ - convert with permission of course ;)

Hav - could it wait a while for the mod to be released? Its just that this way we are able to say the cars are exclusively for the mod which interests people, then like V8C when its released you can knock yourself out

Otherwise it defeats the purpose of modding it, you guys could just download the cars :rolleyes:

I asked TMM and he's still fixing upt he body making it low poly cos he does it double sided in Carcad and the fact I can't eveng et SCGT working complelty on my comp doesn't help matters either.

I load upt he game and press "Race" and it doesn't do ne thign cept for go back to dexsktop. Does the same in V8 Challenge with the PBP mod.

Well, today I finally looked into the cars for SCGt and I have no idea where to ad the cars to, but I have a car to add, a 6000 poly monaro LOL

I'll add the cars from V8 Challenge too I guess.

Wats happening down ur end y2K with this?

Well what I am thinking is this, rather then go stuffing around adding in massive car sets etc go back to basics ...

Use the AU and VX V8C mesh with some bloody awesome tetxuring. I have been looking and you can get everything from SS and XR8 to Monaro GTS and GT-P

Plus we have the ute meshes for utes (SS/XR8) and kevs VY and BA meshes, so overall we can have a mixture of

VX SS, VY SS, AU XR8, AU XR6, Monaro CV8 (or 427), FPV GT-P, VX / VY SS ute, AU/BA XR8 Ute

I relly think we should just shove together some fictional skins and call it a RP 24hr lol (well at least we could race each other around the mount)
