NFSU problem with icons displayed in menus

I have just bought NFSU after playing the demo for a while. On the demo I noticed that some of the icons in the menu's were really blurred to a point where you could not makie it out. I though that this maybe something that may have been fixed in the full gam but it still appears to be blurred (specifically the upgrade/customise icons (where it shows where they are locked out) and some (but not all) of the text. I have tried updating my video card drivers to the latest Catalyst ones (3.10) but with no effect. My system is as follows:

Radeon 9600Pro 128MB
Athlon 2600XP+

I havenet applied the patch yet for the game, but I would like to know if anyone had this problem and if it has been fixed by the patch.

Just in case anyone has this same problem I have figured it out. I was running the default settings for directx in the 3d tab in the ATI control panel. If you change this to custom and set the aa to 2X and the AF to 2X it seems to fix this problem
