I've just heard a minute ago from someone who was watching the TV, that the broadcast was interrupted by a message reporting that Saddam Hussein, the former leader of Iraq has been reportedly captured.

I know little more than that. I don't know if it is true or not, and I won't speculate just yet.

I don't even wake up this early, but my mate rang me, at 7:15 to say he was Captured.

He looked pretty Fat to Me and the Military Intelligence said that he was in very good health and after a thorough examination they said he was Fit To Go - To the Prison ,of course :D

When the military were giving the press conference and the moment they showed Saddams Pics, some people (journalists :?) from Iraq stood up and were shouting/ranting something. Did anyone figure out wat they were shouting?

mainly because he has so many underground hidey-holes that we will never know about, as what was people where saying when the Us invaded - he'll just hide underground and survive there until he dies naturally.

Who knows, he is old and weak maybe he just got his final kicks out of hiding under everyones noses (literally^_^ )

I was acctually re-sorting my bedroom and had the tv on low volume as I was listening to a two-way radio (and annoying people there). I was occasionally looking up at the movie as I moved about my room then all of a sudden "breaking news" is all I saw on channel 7. I wondered what the hell it could have been (I am always thinking in the back of my mind an attack on Australia) then I read the caption and realised

Yes, indeed, it has happened.

The video is pretty conclusive. If it was a double, then it was a very, very good one. I think that is highly unlikely.

I watched the news conference as well, with Paul Brenner, and Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez, and the leader of Iraq's governing council.

It's true, he has been arrested.

Now that the've got him...what to do? If they put him in prison, some of his followers will undoubtedly use terrorism to free him. If he gets the death sentence, some will see him as a martyr and use his name to conduct more terror. Catch 22 I guess.

Well, I heard earlier that they only called the press conference after they had confirmed it was him.

Apparently they had him for around 17 hours prior to the press conference being called and during that time gave him a medical checkup and took DNA samples which were checked to make sure it was him.

As for him being fit, well, he's not a young bloke by a long shot and by the way he looks so pale, I'd say he's been hiding out of the sun for some time, which is why he looks like that. The beard makes him look a lot different too.
