Hi all,

Just checked and found the Update to Version 1.4.4 and the Slipstream V8 Muscle car are on the Update Website.

http://mitglied.lycos.de/xrfez/Pics/Slip.jpg

The update is linked to the "Multiplayer Patch" symbol and not the Update link.

I am gonna try it now, but actually I dont have time, and if I start playing I may play for hours and no work gets done. Just a quick "spin"

EDIT: What a beast  Fantastic handling in a straight line ^_^ Sliding in every corner with risk of spinning -^ Horrible brakes ;) What a fantastic Muscle Car -^ -^ -^

Hey Geezer,

from the readme :D

DOWNLOAD CAR / BONUS MATERIAL
==============================

We're not just going to let you buy our product and then leave you alone!

Installation of Download Car requires the update to version 1.4.4

If World Racing detects an additional car at start, it will
automatically be added.

After installation of additional cars, you will be able to
continue with your save data. But additional cars will first
be unlocked after one driven event!

At first the car was not available, I had to do 1 race then the car was "unlocked"

Oh and yeah now its available on the "Update" link -^

Yup Thx FeZ, I missed the readme and couldnt find it in the WR folder but when i re-started the install,I caught the info.:")

What a car! ^_^ A 1964 Buick Riviera with a flame decal job! try a race at Hockenheimring:D The car needs a deeper rumble @ low idle tho..it sounds a bit asthmatic.

Wowzer wow thanks for the info Fez, nice looking car, hehe it is a great off roader :")

Have you guys got an interior cockpit view, and does the "V" thingy still work for you for rotational views ?

Mine hasn't and doesn't

Sue  :Peace:  "Wanted a bit more of a rumble too................."

FeZ

Yeah you right, there is no cockpit view

The "v" thingie still works for me, when I zoom into the car there is also no cockpit visible.

Its no a specific model, but a mixture of everything.

the front would have looked (in my opinion) better if the head lights were on the outside of the grill, turn signals under the head lights and a big grill in the middle(the grill looks shrunken) other than that its cool. I just have mixed feelings about the front end...

Who needs a cockpit view with such a wicked hood view.
Talk about your bumpy rides through the banks with this car, lol.
To base the car on a specific American muscle car would have created some copyright problems.

No Buick Riv fans in the audience , eh?

http://www.buicks.net/show_and_shine/do242/69Riv.jpg

These (http://www.buicks.net/show_and_shine/do242/) were fairly serious sleepers , especially when loaded down with a big block .

68/69 model year , with the inset headlights my wager would be this '68 http://www.buicks.net/show_and_shine/roeli/RIV.09.jpg
http://www.buicks.net/show_and_shine/roeli/index.html

instead of the '69 pictured above it :)

Dang, you beat me to it, i was gonna say an old buick Riv. Oh well, sweet car lots of fun to drive, especially sideways.

Yup, certainly looks like a 68-71 Riv to me. I used to have a '70 skylark. Looked very similar except the Lark had a 1pc grill(no spit)
Back end was almost identical. Cool looking mod for a Riv tho.
Dagnabit, I'll be glad when I can get this game!-^

70 Skylark looks similar to the Riv ? I also used to own one , but never thought so myself . The 'larks most closely resembled , if anything else , the rest of the GM midsize ( at the time , heh ) lineup , including such names as the Olds Cutlass, Chev Malibu, and Pontiac's GTO .

As far as I can recollect , nothing else really resembled the Rivs, least not in 68/69 excepting maybe the Olds Toronado.

I believe in the 70's the Catalina's came to , but that could be my mind playing tricks on me again :D

Actually, I was refering to the V8 car, Rear end looks to me like a Skylark, front looks like a Riv. I think they shared some styling cues. Sorry for any offence.:")

No offense taken , was just suprised at the comparison since the only similarity I've seen was the rear bumper / tailight configuration . If you look at a 'larks back end , it slopes much more steeply than the back of the riv , which is slightly longer / flatter . On the tailights / bumper , I'd concede that those do , in fact , look very similar :)

Boy I wish they would do some work on the engine sounds in this game!!!! The Slipstream is the weakest sounding open pipe car I have ever heard in a game or in life. My 93 cavalier daily driver car is deeper and louder than that thing :p

Jimid8tor
12-09-2003, 12:08 AM
Thats it! A Buick Riv, I mistakenly thought it was a Olds Toranado,My Bad!

Yeah it doesn't have that throaty sound specially with eight injectors coming out of the hood on a big block with headers,
Even with mufflers it would sound deeper than that,But they probably did not have a correct sound bite to put in the game at the time?

But i'm thankful for some new wheels to race around in!
This old Dinosaur still gets some airtime! ^_^

Why arguing about sound when there's so much to say about this unique and interesting experience : driving a boat on roads :D ;) :D

This drifting machine is 1 of my fav car in game (happy not to pay for tires !!)

... so THIS car is added to MBWR? ohhh... this car is good, but ... i don't like to see it in "Mercedes Benz" game :( And seems i understand now what does mean "6 brands" in WR-2 =[

P.S. Thanks God there aren't Ferraries and so on in PU...

The new car is a fantasy car...it is not real and a creation based on the muscle cars from the 70th we all love !!!

Anything else would create a license problem...

Hi Tom, I got a question about the musclecar. Since this is a game licensed by Mercedes-Benz isn't it under Daimler-Chrysler that owns the licenses for the Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda, Dodge Charger etc.?

I do think however that this fantastic concept including the giant tracks should have been expanded to other brands, even if "only" from Daimler-Chrysler's history.

Thanks for you great help and I hope to finally be able to buy it next month.

I would love to see the 3 wheeled Reliant Robin with a big V8 in this game imagine that down the ski jump ^_^

Hi Frank

DC is just the top end... licenses are to be negotiated with Mercedes for Mercedes and Chrysler for Chrysler. No chance to get both with a fingersnip. Actually, they dont like each other very much and want to stay separate.

It is not so easy to make the cars... takes 2-3 weeks to build a car with 3Dstudio max and a few weeks to tune the car t run properly. more a problem is to get correct data. This is a real nightmare...

Thanks for the quick and good answer Tom :)
I thought that Daimler controlled Chrysler since the official merger was in reality more of a take-over, but maybe that's why Chrysler doesn't like Daimler hehe.

I spend some time researching for real-life car specificiations so I really know what you are talking about regarding how hard, or rather: impossible it is to find such info like torque-loss in the transmission, the weight and inertia of the car's wheels, the torque curve of the engine, suspension alignment, spring rates, damper rates etc.

However MBWR could still get some nice MB vehicles, like the 190E Evolution II in both street and track form, the Porsche-made 500E and then into something I have in my blood almost, heavy-duty trucks. I have MBTR and loved it both for graphics and reasonably realistic handling but I'd love a late-model Mercedes-Benz Super Race Truck in MBWR, but I'd also love one of the older street-based trucks like the special BP-sponsored one with 4 turning front-wheels from the early 90s I think.

Greetings
Frank

Aww Thats to bad of there feelings towards each other,:(
Be nice to see some older Highly rendered Chysler/Plymouth /Dodge vehicles to be able to "drive" in a game!

I did see some non drivable or parked on roadside cars that are rendered resembling Dodge Intrepids and even a Caddy etc...I know,I hit them! Hee hee ^_^
But I can understand peoples views on only having Mercedes Benz in a Mercedes Benz game.
But since you were making non MB add on cars, They were just an idea.
Hmmm...
That would be a neat poll or contest !What car the MBWR gamers would like added to MBWR.

Originally I thought that on the website where it says Big Block was a totally different game coming,But now I/we know better.

So Tom,Do you have to get permission and approval from M-B to add one of there own cars to the game?
And this WR II,Is this going to be a separate game or a add on game to WR 1 ?

I like Franks idea on the MB BP 4 tandem front turning wheels truck!
So there's a Dune Buggy coming and.....Maybe Tom's Monster Jeep???

^_^

Best Regards!

Pls see my answers :

>>>Chrysler wants an enormous amount of money as a license fee !!!

So Tom,Do you have to get permission and approval from M-B to add one of there own cars to the game?

>>>We can add what we want as MB only has rights on their cars we licensed... Thats why we can add something like the V8 Slipstream.

And this WR II,Is this going to be a separate game or a add on game to WR 1 ?

>>>WRII Will be a complete new game based on all input we got from the gamers on PC and console...

So there's a Dune Buggy coming and.....Maybe Tom's Monster Jeep???

>>>Hahaha... no chance... This would be a licensed car... But, if I think it over... there is not much left from Jeep.

The new car will be a fun car on and off road. Looking great and is a concept car Carsten from Synetic has designed.

Does this mean that the public i never gonna get a chance to add cars for themselves? I still haven't seen MBWR in AUs but if we can add cars, I'm putting my cars into that game over NFS 4 or 6.

Thanks for the reply Tom!

Chyrsler wants a lot of money for anything! ^_^ Oh well...To bad for them!

Maybe thats why there are not to many Mopars in games.?

Already looking forward to WRII ! But I still have a bit to go on MBWR. I take my time so I don't burn out of any game.

Not much left of your Jeep??? Oh No !!! Did you roll it !
Yes, It's licenced, But just call it something else like Rockstar Games did with all there cars on Midnight Club II ! ^_^

That Slipstream does some way cool doughnuts and smoke rolls off the tires nicely!!
Looking forward to Carstens new Concept car!

And as always, Appreciate your time and effort for us in all forums!
Best Regards!
