I wanted to keep from having to put in my CD so I did a search on Kazza and found a No CD Hack from "deviance" anyway it had two exes in it so I used one to replace mine. It didnt run the game. so I then tried to reinstall the game from CD cause I didnt think to backup the old .exe.
After reinstalling I tried to run the game and do an update, the game would run fine but when I try to update it tells me that I dont have the original disk &(

then after rebooting the game wouldnt run again.. I have reinstalled and rebooted several times and the game runs fine after reinstalling ( but not update) then after the reboot it makes the game not run again..

anyone know what may be the cause? Im beginning to think that the lame .exe added a corrupt string to the Registry. I ran RegClean from microsoft but it didnt find any errors.

any ideas?

Note: this is not a bad case of warez, There are several games out there that have legitamate No_CD hacks (patches) by 3rd party devs.

Well, if you have installed the no-cd patch & you want to update the game, you need to insert the original cd-rom into your drive.
After it has started click on "update" & you will get to the update-site easily. :D

The other thing: Try to reinstall once again & make sure you have the right no-cd patch (note: every update-version needs a different patch) & try again.
Also make sure your pc has no virus. If you do not have an anti-virus program, visit an online virus scan. (trend-micro or symantec)

Good luck

ok, think I have this solved (fingers crossed) I ran a program called regSupreme >> http://www.jv16.org/ 30day trial and cleaned up the registry after an uninstall of MBWR. I then reinstalled and was once again able to get to the Update page. :)

just info incase this happens to you guys.

I ran regedit after running this software and did a search for "World Racing" and found 2 entries , one was the demo I first tried and the other was for the Full install. I renamed both by adding "OLD" to the name. Then installed the new install.

Registered the product this time so I think it will be ok
