Hi!
I have been browsing this forum for a while and i am very impressed by what i have seen so far. The support the froum users get from Tom are superb, quick answers and great feedback. This is something all forums should have.
I am a proud owner of Mercedes Benz world racing and i am really enjoying the game. I have been playing many racing games and this is one of the best.
Now my question, at the update site there are two "buttons", the surprise and the big block which are supposed to be out at mid october.
Is this true? at the FAQ site, which is in german and not my best language i can read that the question regarding downloads for the future is still not clear?
And finally what is big block?
Thanks for your time..
Hi Swimeye
Good question :D
I am atm not at home and away from my gaming-system, so I cannot check the website for the updates. Last time I checked it said "coming mid october".
I will be back home at end of October, and I was planning to start asking/moaning/bitching then if there is still no news :)
Maybe Tom can tell us a bit more about the surprise & BigBlock ?

darn guys...if it shaLL be a surprise why U* don't want to wait and be surprised when the time wiLL give us the chance for it ;)
Hehe Heil :)
Its not necessary that I want to know what the surprise is, it is more that I would like to know what "coming mid october" means :)
It could mean 15th of October, or the timeframe between 10th and 20th October, or maybe in gamedeveloper lingo "whenever it is ready" ^_^ ^_^ ^_^

Hi...
Synetic is hard working to prepare the new .exe to download the cars...the cars are ready but Synetic is having difficulties for the implementation.
The Big Block is known as Slipstream... It is a muscle car from the 70th... Big engine, lots of tourque and soft kind of shocks and suspnesion... This car is build for traffic light races and donut creation.
We all love the Starsky & Hutch kind of cars and burn some rubber...this cars are dinosaurs from a lost world.
The other car is a dune buggy with big tires, strong acceleration and fun to drive on and off road.
We probably need one mor month to have this feature completed. All customers who are listed on the update page are getting a mail saying it ready now.
Sorry but we are late.

EA certainly didn't help itself - that's for certain. NFS:HP2 wasn't really that good - pretty cars to look at (but with lossy compressed textures - jpeg style), but, beyond that, not much else. Fortunately the demo NFS:HP2 version was warning enough (no comfort to those who'd preordered the full thing, I suppose).
No need to be modest about MBWR, it easily blows away all the recent NFS titles I've played, and is more than a match for NFS Porsche Unleashed. -^
One point of explanation on this place, for those who were not around from the start. It originally started off as TotalNFS, and we didn't have a lot of different forum categories, and I think we just concentrated on NFS at the time. That was it basically, as far as I can remember (it was a long time ago). We used to have buttons down the left side for various different things, and the forum was in the right "frame" I think.
It was a really cosy sort of place, real family atmosphere. It'd be nice to think that we've retained that sort of feel, but inevitably as things get bigger, some of that changes a little bit.
But eventually, it got bigger, expanded, and turned into Racerplanet, where we cover just about anything, from motorshow news and new cars, or classy old classics, to all manner of racing sims and games, from the arcadish NFS games, to the super-sim style GPL, and even the popular, and not too shabby mods for the EA F1 series (usually covering anything but F1 - surprisingly).
