Hi fellow World Racers,

I've been playing around with my graphics setup for MBWR, because my "average" PC was a bit slow at 1024x768x32 or even 800x600x32 (expecially on the city map).

I was going down to 18-25FPS on some complex spots of "City", but I didn't really wanted to lower my video settings more than this....

So I tried something different:

Window mode (instead of full screen)
Widescreen format

Well, guess what...Window mode increased my FPS to 25-35 in the City map, although I'm running it in a 1024x768x32 window! On other maps it's around 35-45FPS :)

This is really amazing, any other game I've ever tried runs SLOWER in window mode

Well, I'm just happier! Now the game won't even crash if I need to ALT-TAB to some other task, such as ICQ, screenshot capture, and so on -^

Then I tried "widescreen" mode, using 1024x576 pixels...and I discovered that in this mode you see MORE of the racing track, and not LESS as in PU or other games -^ -^

Look at the following screenshots I've taken (in 640x480 and 640x400, to be able to post them here):

Amazing, huh?
I find these settings much much better, the PC is faster and the detail seems crispier, too... and with widescreen finally you can see better what's behind those countless corners :HB:

Widescreen view is just making everything smaller, sort of like zooming out a bit with a camera lens. Everything shows up smaller on the screen, vertically the same information is presented in a smaller size, and horizontally, you get to see more of the track.

I tried the windowed setup but could not adjust the gamma/brightness. It is way to dark for me in windowed mode. The setings for fullscreen 3d obviously dont work on the window
